De Jong Zuurmond offers long-term infrastructure maintenance services for motorways, provincial and local roads and inland waterways. The company carries out both fixed maintenance (mowing, cleaning, etc) and occasional maintenance (relaying asphalt, flyover maintenance, etc). Clients include the Dutch Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management, provincial and municipal authorities and water boards. The company operates on long-term, multi-year contracts, which are obtained through public tender. Foreman purchased De Jong Zuurmond from Royal Boskalis Westminster in 2015.

Exit:

In 2018, De Jong Zuurmond was sold to a private equity investor, in cooperation with the incumbent management.

Foreman’s value-add:

Foreman heeft de onderneming ondersteund bij de professionalisering van de organisatie en er is ingezet op verbreding van het managementteam. Tevens zijn er twee gerichte acquisities gedaan om de capaciteiten in nat-onderhoud te versterken en om elektrotechnisch onderhoud toe te voegen aan het dienstenpakket. Daarnaast is geïnvesteerd in verschillende initiatieven gericht op o.a. duurzaamheid, innovatie, verhuur en data-driven assetmanagement. Tijdens de investeringsperiode is de onderneming door zowel autonome als acquisitieve groei verdubbeld qua omzet en bijna verdrievoudigd qua winstgevendheid.
